Barkan Assemblage Eitan

Availability: In stock

This wine is named after Mount Eitan, a prominent landmark in the Jerusalem hills. The wine, of 2009 vintage, was actually harvested in its entirety in the Kiryat Anavim vineyard, a vineyard which has proven its high quality already from the first year of production, and has only improved over the years. The vineyard is spread over stony Terra Rossa terraces, some of them narrow and some wider, in the mountain ridge over Kibbutz Kiryat Anavim, at an altitude of around 700 meters.

A deep, shiny purplish red color. The nose is full of scents of black fruit, mainly cassis, which lead to aromas of tobacco, rosemary, nutmeg and a hint of old leather. The palate presents elegant and balanced fruitiness, refined acidity, a greenish shade of thyme and rosemary wrapped in ground black pepper. The smooth tannins, the complexity, the richness and the long and elegant finish eventually create a wine which is harmonious, precise and yet with an impressive presence.
